(FR) Modelling natural habitats for forest bats based on existing acoustic data

This study aims to the natural habitats of bat species (forest bats and/or species potentially sensitive to wind turbines), based on existing acoustic data.

The goal is to identify in detail, by spatial modelling, the parts of the Walloon territory most likely to be occupied by the following bat species : Myotis myotis, Nyctalus noctula, Nyctalus leisleri, Eptesicus serotinus, Pipistrellus pipistrellus and Pipistrellus nathusii.

The statistical analysis of Species Distribution Models (SDM) used in this context is based on the R package tidysdm. It tests different models (Generalized Linear Model, Random Forest, Boosted Tree model and MaxEnt - Maximum of Entropy) to compare a set of environmental factors to presence and (pseudo-)absence data for each of the studied species. A map of the probability of presence in Wallonia is finally produced for these species.
