Ecofirst and Natagora have been working together for several years to offer training sessions in acoustic bat identification for environmental professionals. Our aim is to support people working in consultancy, wildlife surveyors, freelancers, scientists, naturalist NGOs, managers of natural areas, civil servants in charge of evaluating studies, etc., in their learning process for sound analysis, and advise to improve the practices.

These training sessions cover the different techniques for identifying bat species on the basis of their echolocation calls, as well as learning how to use the various tools (ultrasound batdetectors, analysis software, pre-sorting algorithms, acoustic pipelines) and bat study protocols.

Our expertise for this project:

  • Supervision of training : JF. Godeau et P. Nyssen (Ecofirst) + C. Brabant (Natagora)
  • Organization, registration management, administrative matters : P. Nyssen
