As part of the Transversal Ecological Transition Plan of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Action 2.4.1) and the strategic plan of the Ministry of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Ecofirst is tasked with developing differentiated management plans for 10 pilot sites belonging to the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

The main objective is to collaborate with all stakeholders (directors, technical services, architects) to reconcile the main uses of the sites (sports, public reception, landscape enhancement, etc.) with the implementation of differentiated green spaces management measures in each site.

The first step of this mission is to carry out a quantitative and qualitative inventory of the different outdoor spaces (areas, characteristics, landscape quality, ecological diagnosis, function, and attendance), the current management methods for each type of area, and the available human, material, and budgetary resources.

Based on this assessment, we will recommend management measures adapted to the 10 sites and provide training modules to the technical staff in light of the previously drafted management plans.

Communication sessions are also planned for autumn 2024 to raise awareness among all stakeholders about the management measures for the outdoor spaces that will be adopted following the mission.
